SCHOOL SECURITY GUARD
The School Security Guard is responsible for the security and safety of students, staff, and guest. SMJ daily mission is to create a safe and pleasant atmosphere so teachers can educate, and students can learn. Our Officers are trained in crisis response, conflict mediation, and restorative justice in addition to other state mandated training.
SMJ Security owner is a retired Chicago Police Officers who have served as a resource to the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) as well as the Charter School network and have implemented key training programs from CPS as part of SMJ School Team Training.
School Security Guard
- Security Guards secure all entrances to the school and conduct security checks as they patrol the school and its surroundings.
- Security Guards supervise students’ activities in the school.
- Security Guards assist in helping students resolve disputes and fights between themselves.
- In emergency, School Security Guards assist to vacate the school efficiently, without causing panic and chaos among students and staff.
- In case of fire or somebody’s illness, Security Guards is responsible for calling 911.
- Guards are also required to complete all necessary reports prior to the end of their tour of duty.
